Ian Thomson
Ian Thomson is a British journalist, biographer and critic. He is the author of an acclaimed life of Primo Levi, 'The Elements of a Life' (2002), which won the Royal Society of Literature's W.H.Heinemann Prize. Among his works of reportage are 'Bonjour Blanc: A Journey Through Haiti' (1992) and 'The Dead Yard: A Story of Modern Jamaica' (2009), which won the Royal Society of Literature's Ondaatje Prize. His critical works include 'Dante's Divine Comedy: A Journey Without End' (2020). His journalism appears in the Times Literary Supplement, The Spectator, New Statesman, Financial Times and The Observer. He is currently completing a family memoir set in the Baltic during the Second World War.
