Dr Jack Watling is a Senior Research Fellow for Land Warfare at RUSI. He is the author of ‘Statecraft: The New Rules of Power in a Divided World’ (2026) and ‘The Arms of the Future: Technology and Close Combat in the Twenty-First Century’ (2023).
