John Delury is a senior fellow at the Asia Society and visiting research fellow at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. He is the author of 'Agents of Subversion: The Fate of John T. Downey and the CIA’s Covert War in China' and co-author with Orville Schell of 'Wealth and Power: China’s Long March to the Twenty-first Century'. In 2023, he became the inaugural Tsao Fellow in China Studies at the American Academy in Rome, where he completed a book manuscript on the Chinese empire, and he remained in Italy as a visiting professor at Luiss University and John Cabot University. Previously, Dr. Delury was Professor of Chinese Studies at Yonsei University. He received his BA, MA, and PhD in history from Yale University.
