Richard Cockett is a Senior Editor at The Economist and a member and former Fellow of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton. His research focus centres on modern intellectual history, particularly in Vienna, and he has authored the book ‘Vienna: How the City of Ideas Created the Modern World’ (2023). He has also written about the tragedy of Burma in ‘Blood, Dreams and Gold: The Changing Face of Burma’ (2015).
