Thomas F. Remington is Goodrich C. White Professor of Political Science (Emeritus) at Emory University. He is author of The Returns to Power: A Political Theory of Economic Inequality (Oxford University Press, 2023). This article is based on research he is conducting on competition law and the reconstruction of postwar Germany and Europe.
