Jack Dickens

Jack Dickens is an historian and journalist with a particular interest in geopolitics, foreign policy and the Middle East. He read History at Trinity College, Cambridge, and has a master’s degree in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford. His undergraduate dissertation examined the evolution of French republicanism at the time of the French and Haitian Revolutions and was awarded the Society for the Study of French History’s dissertation prize. His more recent work looks at Anglo-American geopolitical competition in the Middle East after 1945 and the emergence of the Arab Cold War. He speaks fluent French and Arabic and is currently writing a book which will re-examine the history of the 1973 Oil Crisis and its impact on US foreign policy.
