Mark Plotkin has led the Amazon Conservation Team and guided its vision since 1996, when he co-founded the organisation. A renowned ethnobotanist, he has spent almost three decades studying traditional plant use with traditional healers of tropical America. His books include Tales of a Shaman’s Apprentice; Medicine Quest: In Search of Nature’s Healing Secrets, and he is co-author of The Killers Within: The Deadly Rise of Drug-Resistant Bacteria.
