Stephen Kern

Stephen Kern teaches at Ohio State University. His research has explored psychoanalysis, phenomenology, the body and sexuality, time and space, love, causality, murder, narrative, secularization, and the Internet. His major publications are The Culture of Time and Space: 1880–1918 (1983, 2003), The Culture of Love: Victorians to Moderns (1992), A Cultural History of Causality: Science, Murder Novels, and Systems of Thought (2004), and The Modernist Novel: A Critical Introduction (2011) He is currently working on a book on time and space over the past forty years.
